Tree Removal, Stump Grinding, and Driveway Grading Done Right

Here's what we started with - a tangled mess of overgrown trees, stumps, and brush eating into usable driveway space. No drainage to speak of. No clean edge. Just years of growth doing whatever it wanted. That's a pretty common starting point for jobs like this, and it's exactly the kind of thing we tackle head-on.

We brought in the CAT mini excavator and got to work. Trees came down, stumps came out, and all the debris was cleared and hauled off. Land clearing like this isn't just about making things look better - it's about reclaiming space that should be working for you. Once the area was stripped back, we had a clean slate to work with.

From there, it was all about building the driveway up the right way. We laid in modified stone as the base, then finished with final grading and a proper slope so water drains away from the surface instead of sitting on it. That detail matters more than most people realize. A driveway that doesn't drain right is one that deteriorates fast - soft spots, ruts, and pooling water are all signs the grading wasn't done correctly from the start.

Rock was set along the edge to finish things off and hold the grade in place. What you end up with is a driveway that handles rain, looks sharp, and actually holds up over time. That's the goal on every job - functional first, clean second.
