We teamed up with ENVY Electrical LLC on this electrical conduit job - and this one was a solid team effort from start to finish. Our role was the excavation side of things. That meant opening up a clean, consistent trench so their crew could get the conduit in the ground without any issues.

Trenching for underground utilities sounds straightforward, but there's more to it than just digging a hole. You have to maintain a consistent depth and width the whole way through, work around existing structures and property lines, and keep the site safe and manageable for the other trades working alongside you. A sloppy trench creates problems for everyone downstream - and that's not how we operate.

Once ENVY had the conduit set, we came back in and handled the backfill. We used screenings to pack the ditch back in properly, then graded out all the disturbed ground. Getting the grade right matters - leave it rough and uneven and you've created a drainage problem, or at minimum an eyesore that the property owner is stuck dealing with.

The last step was cleanup, and we take that seriously. A lot of crews treat cleanup as an afterthought. We don't. When we leave a site, it should look like we respected the property - because we did. The graded area was smoothed out and the site was left clean before we pulled off.
